Happy for Brendan Fraser, but I still haven’t seen The Whale.

Though I thought Blanchett's work in Tár was a masterclass, the Michelle Yeoh win makes me really happy. Awesome to see the Academy award such a varied performance that called on her to channel so many different emotions and techniques - and, of course, the groundbreaking nature of the win. Great speech, too.

Seeing Chastain/Berry/Yeoh walking away all happy like that...can we get a remake of The First Wive's Club or something starring those three, pretty please?

EEAAO has the most number of award in core categories since the silence of the lambs, no movie has sweep the top categories like this one. 

 

Only best picture left, this is ending earlier than expected?

Everything Everywhere did it with 7 wins. All Quiet and The Whale with the only other movies with more than one award and five BP nominees going home empty-handed. They really didn't spread the wealth this year.
