titanic2187
Indian love for Nolan really exploded, that OW is easily beating the entire run of most of the Nolan's movie over there.
Valonqar
That OS is insane, blew past expectations. I think we all underestimated the interest in atomic bomb. Plus perfect director for the subject matter.

The Dark Alfred
Nolan is the undisputed box office God. Some of figures are mind-blowing for a 3 hour biopic. The biggest non-superhero Nolan opening weekend in 55 markets, that is just jaw-dropping, until you hear this: The biggest opening day for a Nolan film in 33 markets. Let that sink in, that's beating all the Batman films in 33 countries. Nolan could open Michael Caine reading a phone book for 3 hours in IMAX and it would open 100m worldwide. 2
charlie Jatinder
As I always say, Nolan and Cameron are only two to guarantee $500M WW. Just that Cameron make commercial films while Nolan goes a bit off beat. Inception today will be close to $1.5B. Well, with 2019 China and Korea.
Gavin Feng
It seems it's also biggest WWII movie opening, right? Dunkirk was the record holder.

Borobudur
I think people forget the way IMAX was this big today largely thanks to JC, his avatar made $250m+ in IMAX format alone back in 2009. That is when he send a shock wave to the industry to this day.

You can't rely on him as much as you can on Nolan, because he only made two films this century.

Imax count increased dramatically in next few years. Avatar also benefited by $3 surcharge everywhere including Imax.

At least Nolan has a filmography in this century. If he were to make Batman films forever as obsessively as Cameron is with AVATAR than it wouldn't be the case. Both are geniuses on their own right and pushing the boundaries of filmmaking in a unique way, which is just amazing. Both are to be celebrated.
