I'm new here—will there be a separate weekdays thread? I'm really curious about what to expect for Dune/KFP4's Monday gross (seems like a big bellweather of the holds to expect going forward?)

Yes, there will be a separate thread for the weekdays.

Excellent second weekend drop for Dune. If we look at all 60M+ openers without a holiday second weekend, it's in the top 20 best second weekend drops. It's one of only 4 sequels in the top 20.

It's also worth noting that most of the films on the list below are animated family films and/or of an earlier era of box office when Thursday previews were not as dominant or did not exist (and therefore second weekend drops naturally weren’t as hefty). A 44% drop for a sequel in this day and age is exceptionally rare.

Looking forward to seeing how its legs continue!

Peace,

Mike

Kung Fu Panda, Imaginary and Cabrini all overestimated so far, wonder if Oscar’s impacted Sunday more than expected.

It's bigger than last year and is the best since the 2020 ceremony.
