I don't really know spring IM works, but seeing all people projecting a 45-50m OW for Panda, isn't it weirdly high? That would need 12x-13x IM, an especially high IM, and the movie "only" scored 82% RT audience score.

Depends on how fan-driven these previews are (though are there really many Dreamworks Adults willing to see Kung Fu Panda 4 right away?), but this could get to 60M if it really plays like a Trolls 3/Migration-style family movie.

God damn at Panda. Think 50m feels certain with a good chance at 55m+ OW. 60m could happen if it plays more to kids vs adults.

The other ones are all pre-verified. 82% start on verified audience for a kids film is simply dismal.

Thats way better than i expected for Panda 4, but the tracking team certainly was right on the money again!

Seems to me that familys truly crave a family movie right now. Migration is really old news by now and Dune 2 for all its greatness is hardly a family movie.

Do you expect it to go lower than 74%?

I don't know and don't see why it matters. Like I said, the other ones are pre-verified. 82% verified is already worse than that pre-verified era 74.

I'm just really happy to see a solid mid tier animated success on opening weekend. The top tier franchises seem fine. But, getting a solid win here does a lot to convince studios to put out more family content.

Barring something unexpected, this will probably be the fourth biggest animated opening post pandemic. But, it will probably finish the year as the fifth biggest animated opening this year behind Inside Out, Despicable Me, Garfield and Moana.

It feels like we're returning to a much better outlook for family films. I still wish we had a few more smaller films come out during the quiet periods, but it's still great to have these wins.

I get there unverified

I seriously don’t think kung fu panda fanbase is so rabid that there review scoring past movies 10/10 to boost some rotten tomatoes score or 0/10 where there are kfp haters lol

i think 82% is fine and judging by booking in my local cinemas, this is gonna have great weekend

RT Audience score can still swing around quite a bit in the first 24 hours of release. I think Migration was similarly low initially before working its way up to 88%.
