JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Frozen tonight is 2901, 10% drop from last Friday

Only -10% against all this new competition sounds awesome, even if it ends up -20% for the weekend I'd be happy since I was worried it might tumble under 2m for the weekend, but -10% would be closer to 2.4m. :D

This is not surpring at all.EOT is male driven, so it was always going to flop in today's Japanese film market, like every other Hollywood fanboy flick. (Godzilla and TF4 will follow it, was saying it for months.)Maleficent is a chich flick, aka a sister film to Frozen, so it breaks out.

I'm thinking at least $8m for Maleficent this weekend, no? Should be around 3-4x higher than Frozen.

I don't think 8m is possible.  According the presale, Frozen's OW is stronger than Maleficent..

Dame Jolie embarrasses La Cruz once again.

YOU are embarassing youself. It`s not that difficult for a well-known property, as Disney tales.

Poor Tom

Yeah, yuke.

That he singlehandedly opens an original scifi movie is indeed so poor. Oh, wait.

It`s opposite.

Tom is OLD. He's been around since the early '80s. He's done more movies so that obviously helps his total gross. Anyway, despite his b.o. grosses, everyone now thinks of him as a closeted Scientologist nutjob couch jumper. Which is too bad b/c he's been in a lot of good movies. Oh well, it is what it is.
