What are Mini theaters? They just small or are they niche?

A mini theater is a type of Japanese independent movie theater that is not under the direct influence of any major film companies. Mini theaters are characterized by their relatively smaller size and seating capacity compared to larger, non-independent movie theaters found in Japan, as well as their programming, which includes independent or arthouse films

In short, limited fan-base/less likely G.A. walkup or special/limited screening get into mini theater as wide-screening doesn't make sense.

— Pre-sales —

TG:M 3rd Sat >> DBS:SH 1st Sat

I'm surprised when i find TG2 seats increase 10% again for Friday.

They are adjusting it, so that Friday Numbers grow tall, which is enough to reduce the impact coming DBS:SH (Sat-Sun). Overall, Weekly basis numbers will see a strong hold, though Weekend might be diminishing (yet to be clear)

Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes's Pre-sales weren't up to the mark many analyst expected. I can see many of their box office projection has changed from "¥1000M-¥1300M" to "¥800M-¥1000M". I am still optimistic (a bit of negative) about "¥700M+". But, let's see what happens.....

Interestingly, Premium Format (especially IMAX) is adjusted well.

Giveaways:

#1 DBS:SH : 1,000,000 Card + IMAX Benefit (Poster)

#2 Shin Ultraman : 500,000 (3 types of random card)

#3 TG: Maverick : 300,000 (Uma &Cruise Card)

Think mimorin is just bugged today. I saw a few negative updates for a bunch of stuff and just doesn't make any sense in general (even excluding top gun there's no way shin ultraman is just randomly dropping -70% on a random friday after over a month for example). Blogger will probably fix at night.

Is there any reason why today seems like every movie holds better ? Don't expect TG2 holds below 15% after weekdays in 20%+ drop.

Is it because Dragon Ball movie that sellout so the spillover gets to another movie ?

Six works has giveaways effect.

Only Gundam seems to be not benefitted by Giveaway.

Only on Sat-Sun, Shin Chan appears on Top 10

Conan is a Tier 1 Anime Film Series

Whatever, if works are holding well then we should appreciate it. It's not like TGM should only hold well

:redcapes:

Dragon Ball Super start is solid looks like a good walk-up coming across the country. Well, evening/night shows will give us an idea.

Since, Sat-Sat hold is good. I imagine Sun-Sun hold be flat (it's usually better than Sat-Sat hold). So, I think 3rd Weekend will easily be above ¥650M, exceeding Spider-Man No Way Home (¥4.19B)

It has believe have reached ½ of that number. Though, we will see tomorrow. However, I am a bit off to see JWD grossing more than LightYear.

Interesting, Avatar 2 isn't in the list so Hollywood might take No.1 highest grossing film in 2023 (in Japan)....
