Here, tonights shows in 2D and 3D are sold out (one screen has 6 seats left, not together in pairs though which hurts chance of selling them). Keep in mind that we only had one cinema showing 2D on 2 screen for ROTK, now we have 2 cinemas showing on 2 (2D/3D) and 3 screens (2D/3D/HFR).

Thank you very much :)Not good data. I do not know if this is very frontloaded in France, but with this data is heading to TTT numbers, maybe a bit higher because exchange rate from 2002 was quite weaker than in 2003. Maybe 40 million (asuming similar legs) Edited December 13, 2012 by peludo

I doubt this can make $ numbers of ROTK as its difficult to see this having as good a legs. After all ROTK had must see factor being the finale which this is lacking. Germany/Uk are next. At least Rovex posts are showing positive signs for UK though few other posters said pre-sales were not good. Germany looks mediocre as well.

Im not comparing to ROTK anyway, im comparing to FOTR, even a fairly hefty drop in admission will see it to 900M+ OS.

Using present day comparisons, TH1 opening was around 120% bigger than MI:GP in admissions, and should be around 150-160% bigger in USD.MI:GP opened with 5.5m 5-day. If TH1 keeps up pace with it, it will open with 14-14.5m, lower than ROTK in USD.

I would bet on it at this point. No way this is looking at 210M increase from ROTK even if it makes lot more in Russia, China, Brazil, Mexico etc. It looks like decreasing big time in Japan plus few European countries. I am not convinced it will be that big in Latin America as well. So I am not sure how it will make 900M if you compare it with ROTK or this years Avengers.

77k tickets in Sweden for OD. Closest comparision is POTC3 which sold 75k on OD and went on to sell 312k for the 5-day. So it would put Hobbit at about 320k for the 5-day. Which would mean 6.5m+. Hopefully it could do more, presales are really good for the weekend.
