Filmovie
200 mln IMO is still possible, TC in China is a big star. 300 WW is still possible too even if it doesn't crack 100 mln DOM (very possible).
A Marvel Fanboy
Only if it does well in china/Japan. current 150M. CHINA+JAPAN 50M
Ozymandias
Holy shit Iron Man 3 slaughtered this. What a horrible release date.
fishstick
No release date was good for such an expensive non-event. It was a filler movie for the studio, obviously.
zackzack
No release date was good for such an expensive non-event. It was a filler movie for the studio, obviously. A filler movie that costs $120 million?
Gazz
A filler movie that costs $120 million? Yeah, it's market was clearly cut down by Iron Man 3 and I expect the same from US. Still, $300m WW is still within reach. And Oblivion is not a film that demands a sequel. Instead it had the balls to be a stand alone, original story in a market full of franchises.

A Marvel Fanboy
Oblivion withstood another Iron Man weekend at the overseas box office. The Tom Cruise film added another $6.5 million to reach an overseas total of $146.8 million. The number, however, is ultimately disappointing in light of the performance of other big ticket options around the world. Strong premieres had the film on track to reach $200 million overseas, but a steady drop-off in subsequent weeks puts all the pressure on the film's run in China, where it premieres next week, in order to reach that benchmark. The global total for Oblivion is $222.8 million.

zackzack
It may do PROMETHEUS number in China. DOM is sputtering to a dead halt. It won't hit $300 million WW even with Japan. I really like this movie, too bad.
Moviedweeb
$300m WW is definitely NOT dead yet with China and Japan yet to open and a few more million from NA yet to come.

John Marston
$300m WW is definitely NOT dead yet with China and Japan yet to open and a few more million from NA yet to come. it's going to be tough though with the competition it has. I can see it falling short.

Moviedweeb
Put any top actor in that role combined with the poor release date and I doubt much would have changed. Edit: Actually, it would probably do worse. Edited May 6, 2013 by Clavius

cjk
It's said that Tom Cruise will visit China to promote Oblivion .So $40M would be likely possible , instead of my early prediction $32M . Edited May 6, 2013 by cjk
