350m WW would be enough for a sequel.

Universal needs more series.

Sequel??????

The story reached a satisfactory conclusion. Any sort of sequel would be completely pointless.

Let the story stand on its own, no need to expand it or explain it further. If people didn't understand the movie, they're not going to shell out money for a prequel that spells things out even more than this movie did.

I really like the world that Kosinski had set up here. The story can continue on the fact that there are still clones of Jack & Vika all over the place. Who is to say they all think the same way. Some probably work together to revive the Tet, or send a beacon for a replacement. Who knows what other mysteries the devastated Earth holds.

MI:GP made 69 m in Japan and 101m in China. Oblivion won't touch that. Tom Cruise is still huge in both countries so i think Japan- 27 M and China -45M  is doable.

Yes, but my concern is OBLIVION is likely to be steamrolled by IM3 which has a tons of buzz in China due to it being a Chinese co-production, Fan Bing Bing, and a rumored Chinese edit. And, unless you are James Cameron, thoughtful scifi in the Far East can be a hard sell (TF has a lot of action in them). MI4 is a traditional action movie with a very special Dubai scene. Universal did a good thing to reign in the budget in the $120 million region. If they could do it under $100 million, this movie will see better margin.
