theultimatebiu
STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS went boldly into just 7 int'l markets and beamed up $31.7M in its debut. Pretty decent...but it has opened in the only strong OS markets for it.

A Marvel Fanboy
PROM number is the target, if average 150+% increase from non-Trek-friendly markets happens. Edited May 12, 2013 by firedeep

fishstick
Around 240m is the goal. Isn`t that too low? I get that STiD isn`t doing as well as Marvel but only 240M OS? C`mon, doesn`t compute.

theultimatebiu
Shit, how low was ST09 OS total? $140M or so Very low...Star Trek has NEVER been popular OS. In the UK it will get hurt by FF6 which opens Friday.
A Marvel Fanboy
It is an embarrassment that nowadays most $200M blockbuster sequels can easily do 500M+/600M+/700M+ OS while Star Trek still being stuck in the 200m~300m range. It is also a failure of Paramount's weak international distribution ability.

Olive
Shit, how low was ST09 OS total? Domestic: $257,730,019 66.8% + Foreign: $127,950,427 33.2%
theultimatebiu
Ooops did not know it was that low. Paramount just dropped the ball. I kept thinking the marketing was nowhere near as strong as ST09 here in the UK. FF6 has had a very good marketing campaign...its everywhere.
