Minions | 7.10.2015 | Crosses 1 BILLION Worldwide. Beats Toy Story 3 on the all-time chart.

I thought DM2 was ok, but I saw the appeal. I knew exactly why it would be a smash hit.

Minions is fairly boring with a boring plot and boring characters. The WOM won't be nearly as strong. Still say this does 400<

Maybe because it tries to appeal more for kids than adults. I really wish we could get more big animated sequels that does also appeal to adults and families too.

To say Universal Pictures is on a roll is an understatement. With Jurassic World already having pounded away at most box office records, the dinosaurs are handing this weekend off to the minions. Already released overseas, the little critters have logged in over $125M in 26 markets and was No. 1 in 15 of those. This weekend they will take control of the domestic box office with an easy No. 1 opening and, by all accounts, will vault well over the $100M for Illumination Entertainment and the studio as it opens wide in 3D.

I love how overhyped Scarlett Overkill is. She's easily one of the most boring antagonists in an animated film ever.

You've seen all her actual scenes in the trailer, the rest is just her flying around with a gun trying to off some minions.

You are aware of the spoiler policy on this board, right?

Ok, then

uh y'all shouldn't watch the trailers because you'll basically spoil the movie for yourself.

But people don't know that unless you willingly tell them. The trailer to people who haven't seen the movie won't think much of it.

...until they see it?

...at which point spoilers don't matter because they've seen it.

I get that you don't feel this is a movie worth keeping spoiler-free, but there are those who feel differently, and it's our policy to be strict about spoilers.

Spoiler is a spoiler. No ifs, ands, or but's. Even something as little as the secret of an actor in a movie is a spoiler. (in some cases)

Just out of curiosity, would Matt Damon have retroactively become a spoiler for Interstellar, even though his initial casting was publicly announced?

No, because like you said he was publically (well, let's clarify is this from the studio or just people online saying it?) announced. So it's fair.

A spoiler for example like this would have been the Lego movie, and people saying will Farrell was in it, cause he was never announced.
