Weekend Numbers (starts pg19) Taken2 22.5, Argo 20.2 mill

Recommended Posts

Has Resident Evil been removed from theaters? Why is there no estimate for it? I was hoping it would have passed the $42 million mark this week. Plus, there are a lot of big decreases this week, anyone know why?

Studio probably not reporting estimates. May have to wait until actuals.Lots of movies had a big time loss of theaters. That's why the large decrease.

About a 55% drop for Taken 2. And so many here were saying it would fall 65-70%.

It's not a bad movie. It may not have had the best acting but what people loved about the 1st one, most of it is in the 2nd one.

Glad to see Perks in the top 10. I wonder what's the budget for this one. I hope under 20 million.Looks like Brave took some of the screens of Finding Nemo 3D. 40 million finish for Nemo 3D is fine although below expectations. I guess Monsters, Inc 3D will gross even less. You just can separate HATES, End of Watch and Trouble With a Curve, they always end up right next to each other lolThe Master is pretty much done I guess.Looper's budget is just 30 million so I'm glad it will be profitable.Impressive for Pitch PerfectIce Age 4 chugging along to $160 million

Love that Taken 2 did under a 55% drop, guys at my college are going crazy for it (16 year olds for you). Some of the even declared it better than the first! While it's not a great movie, and there are far more deserving films to get that kind of gross, it's always good to have a big hit hold reasonably on it's second weekend.

Psychopaths is the rare wide release that probably could have benefitted from a platform start, instead of the other way around. Bittersweet weekend. Argo broke out but Looper and Master got hit big time.

Great hold for Taken2. Nice surprise that it held on to first considering the reviews and all. I haven't had time to watch it but looking forward to finally seeing it tonight. Argo looks good as well but I will hold off until after the ALCS and NLCS of course :P

ya when I saw Argo on friday everyone was very old, there were only 3 of us in the entire audience under 40

Eww, I hate seeing movies like that! I remember going to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last year and the room actually stunk of that gross old people smell.

What a narrow minded view of things.

Wow. You're going to get old one day.
