CJohn
So what kind of backend deal did Denzel make?I have no idea.I am happy that Zemeckis career is back on track with a good movie. I hope he never goes back to that ugly animation that I don't remember the name right now

CoolioD1
There's a THR interview with Denzel were he says they actually came in under budget for Flight and only made it for 28M. So that's good...

CJohn
Argo had its best drop this weekend with direct competition from Flight.Argo is playing in almost 1,000 theaters more than Flight, which means that Argo didn't had to face Flight in those theaters. Also, we aren't talking about a massive OW that kills everything around it. We are talking about a 25M OW. Skyfall will have the type of OW that kills everything around it, tho. Gopher
Can;t see how it would be. Skyfall is aimed at teens and young adults. Flight is not. http://boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=2513&p=.htm According to distributor Sony's exit polling, 54 percent of Quantum's audience was male and 58 percent was over 25 years old, which were close to Casino's results of 55 percent male and 57 percent over 25. It's a fairly even split but Bond definitely skews older.

Flight will not be hurt by Bond though. There is enough of a market for two films aimed at adults.
