Back to the film world, its quite staggering the number of screenings a film can lose daily in China, from this Thursday to Friday alone SWTFA lost around 12,000 screenings! Oh snap! Lmao. Damn . Does this mean only 100-110m in China or even lower? Edited January 15, 2016 by Kalel009Shel

They also don't know or care who the older characters are and what they achieved in the past, and the context about present conflicts is not easy to grasp without prior knowledge. Maybe the chinese audience has never seen any of the previous SW-films in theaters? Even the prequels...... Or maybe they have seen the films....but not seen them on repeat viewings and only saw each film once on DVD? That could be a factor. From what I saw in forums etc, they didn't like how the main characters (guys) were not very good looking. Also overall not futuristic looking enough. And also not enough big explosions etc. The fight scenes and the concept of the Force also seem like a weakened version of wuxia genre to them and not even done well. Confusing plot is another major reason. Some pointed out how ridiculous it is that the Force of the entire Universe lies within a single family. To which end, some even though that it celebrates dictatorship rather than democracy!

I won't say China has better taste but that it is evolving.
