Good old Forbes is following the Coco in China story.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/robcain/2017/11/25/coco-revs-its-engines-for-a-record-busting-china-run-with-7-1m-saturday-nearly-4x-fridays-total/#79fd30e62b69

Quote

The picture nearly quadrupled to $7.1 million on its second day, and pre-buys for Sunday indicate that it could jump by another 25 percent or more, for an opening weekend gross in the range of $18 million to $20 million.

There’s already talk that Coco could challenge this year’s only big animated hit, Universal / Illumination’s Despicable Me 3 , and the $148 million total it collected this past July and August.

And there are even whispers that the $235 million PRC gross earned in 2015 by Disney’s Zootopia could be a viable target for the new Pixar film.

I think some people just got carried away with early trend.

But remember, even if Coco only makes $80-100M in China, that's huge already, twice as much as previous Pixar record.

Any way, Sunday presales nearly doubled JL by 8AM, theatres haven't opened yet.

Coco's next competition, Paddington 2 will be on December 8. However, its predecessor earned $15M (USD) modestly. Is there anything else that will prevent Coco from getting to Dangal/Zootopia-type levels until Star Wars (releases in early January)

Paddington 2 will be much bigger than its predecessor. Some think this one could be $80m big. Between Paddington 2 and SW8 on Jan 5th, there are some big local pics too. But as I have always believed, the market is big enough that it can hold several big release at the same time. Competition is often overestimated.

CC running at 4.7m p/h. It should hold close to that thru 10pm. Increasing at 2pm and fading after 830pm.

Mid 60s, maybe 70m, very close to Zoo's 72m sunday.  I could see a bump well over 100m for next saturday.

DM3 likely to go down.

Minimum gives 50.4 * 12 = 605 (92 usd)!

IMO 55x is realistic, 660 (100 usd).
