Nope. The room didn't like him, Affleck and Clooney especially. That means he won't be back. Last night's telecast was a failure on so many levels that I never want to see those producers back again.

Of course ratings would be down between the year of Avatar and 2011. Look at the ratings history. It mostly has to do with the movies.

Yeah movie box office correlates with viewership but Seth's effect on younger viewers is undeniable. They're much money re valuable to advertisers than the old snoots who were offended.

I don't really get why people think he was 'shocking' or 'pushing the envelope' in any way. He was pretty watered down compared to his usual stuff. Ricky Gervais is probably the only awards show host to come close to being 'edgy' at all.

Gopher's good people and more well-rounded than most of the posters here, he's free to think whatever the hell he wants. I only saw the last two hours, and I didn't see much of MacFarlane but he seemed fine to me. I enjoyed Wahlberg and Ted presenting.
