I find the ending of ROTJ better.

I think the space battle was lacking in TFA...

There was no proper space battle (as in dogfights like all the other entries) in TFA. (Didn't even send One Tie fighter to chase and blast the two runaways at the beginning in space). It was Atmosphere Wars not Star Wars

I think what I meant was the final large war going on was not as interesting as the space battle in ROTJ as it seemed a rehash of ANH.

Whatever the issues with ROTJ, the space battle is imo the best and most entertaining put on screen even with all the modern CGI we have had since.

yeah I definitely agree this is the best space battle they have had and I hope they can match it in one of these upcoming movies :)

Likely in SW9 we should have an epic space battle.

Like to see some capital ships go at it, Star Destroyers vs (what ever the New Republic would have)

And what I'm saying is that the fact it is boring and not as exciting as ANH or ROTJ is because it's not actually a "space" battle per se even if it tries to copy/paste the same vibes, nobody gives a shit about whatever thingy to destroy yaddayadda because even JJ Abrams admits Starkiller is totally secondary to the plot and devoid of any suspense whereas in ANH Death Star's destruction is central to the plot, everything revolves around that.

The only one space battle in my memory that can rival this is Starship Troopers but in terms of scope, kinetic energy, mind-blowing effects complexity (Filming each elements separately and combining them optically on one print like a gigantic moving puzzle, it is said some shots contain hundred elements flying around on the screen), this takes the cake. No Firefly, no Battlestar Galactica, no Star Trek had made me feel that excitement to be embedded into a homeric space battle. Discovering it in theaters, it was exhilarating, I can only imagine if Imax was around, people would have felt space dizziness like Gravity.

ESB

ANH

ROTJ and TFA are more less tied for 3rd

I think all four of them are good.

The prequels are pretty much unwatchable to me as everything about them are fucking awful.  They're not even visually good.
