  1. I think there were talks about a crossover not long ago, but I think it was before they decided to put an end to the current Resident Evil film series. Both franchises have such a huge potential, though, they really could make Underworld way bigger than it is now. As for RE...they really need to reboot it and make a new series, more faithful to the story of the games...although that's been ruined too by the newer entries anyway.
  2. Yeahhh. For now Kate's character is just too important not to send her off in some way before they focus on a new generation. Theo James is in talks to return also.
  3. It looks like how a group of sexists male TV executives would envision the way a "Superhero show aimed at women" shoud look like. Pete Campbell would greenlight this.
  4. I don't know about that, because it's being remarked that this is a spin off and not a main entry in the series. I'm guessing any film starring Storm&Co will have "X-Men" in the title.
  5. That cast gives me hope this won't be a small release. I would be very happy if this turns out a hit.
  6. In which point of the timeline can we expect this to be set? After the final scene of DOFP? Could Patrick Stewart's Xavier still be around for this? Exciting times to be an X-Men fan.
  7. I really don't know what to expect about the finale. I'm most worried about the characters who won't appear and we have seen the last of them already.
  8. Good cover. I didn't like how generic the one for the third season was.
  9. Very witty, like it should be. I think it looks great.
  10. Finally got to watch the finale. Great episode that closes a GREAT season, for me the best one since S1. Plus, the story doesn't feel as artificially stretched as it did at the end of S3, when it was almost like they just brought a new villain for the sake of it. It feels like the show was always destined to reach this point. In fact, it fits as the setting for the final stage. On the downside, the directing and the writing were sloppy at points, for example with characters knowing details that they weren't supposed to. And those terrible-looking VFX that are no excuse, really, because there are others that don't look so cheap. One detail for which I'm very excited about S5
  11. Must...not...read...spoilers! Edit: UGH, I think Jennifer Morrison just spoiled me on twitter.
  12. All of this is plain damage control and stands in the border of rewriting history. It was very normal to expect this to make similar numbers to the first one, considering how TA made the Marvel properties to explode BO wise, and that's why most of predictions here did that. You coud make a very good argument about this not reaching the DOM total of the first one, but all logic says at the very least it should have improved the opening numbers, considering the large portion of the GA who have turned fans of the Marvel Studios properties since 2012. The Avengers was not a 'Jaws' type of hit. The MCU puts a lot of effort in linking every entry in a way that the public is pushed to watch all films as if they were part of a single story.
  13. This latest twist makes obvious how much more versatile Lana Parrilla is as an actress compared to Ginnifer Goodwin. The last one looks too stale in this version of the character. Actually, I think there are two clear groups of actors in the show: the great ones (Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Rebecca Mader, Kristin Bauer) and the ones that simply fit their roles. I'd say Jennifer Morrison is in between.
  14. Not a bad number (although holy shtick if the budget really comes close to $280M) but definitely disappointing. No matter how much damage control you try to make.
  15. He does have a point in which Avatar 2 is a sequel and it has no longer the novelty factor going for it, unless there's a big twist we still don't know about (which wouldn't be surprising, considering how little we know about the project).
  16. Thor, Captain America and Hulk were hardly among the biggest superheroes before TA1. The crossover appeal played a way bigger part than the relevance of each character.
  17. All of this has happened before, and will happen again.
  18. That Chinese grosses are booming doesn't mean that there's going to be an equal amount of discussion about them. This is an American-centric forum, so it makes sense that the main forum is based around the US grosses. Conversations beyond that don't tend to grow a lot, since all the information beyond the pure numbers have been discussed already on the domestic topics.
  19. I had no idea Glen is Matthew Weiner's kid. I was thinking that it's amazing how he's been there for the whole show, given the limited storylines he's got.
  20. I read that article this morning. I feel like in order to rebuild the Trek Universe they need to either get rid of the alternate timeline or set a more solid foundation for a new web of storylines. I don't remember in which part of this forum was, but not long ago I pointed out the irony that just when every major studio started developing their own set of big-scale franchises, Paramount opted for trimming down and simplifying one of the biggest ones they had. Moreover, the movie reboot of 2013 opens up a literal universe worth of ideas, characters and even simply alien races for use, reinvention or exploration by any number of future television series or movie projects; with all stories past the 2001 prequel series Enterprise undone, almost everything that has appeared in nearly five decades' worth of television shows, movies, comic books and novels is up for grabs. There is an amazing amount of potential material available to be mined, should someone go looking for it. I would argue that this could actually be more of a burden than anything else. Judging by their plan with Into Darkness, it sounds like the new timeline limits them creatively to simply reimagine the stories and characters already portrayed on film and TV. Make a new doomsday machine, a new Locutus of Borg...and nothing truly new or creative. In my opinion going further into the future and then play with the evolutions of every culture has more potential than simply rehashing old stories. I see it more like the anniversary gave it a big promotional push that then made possible for the movie to break out with the GA.
  21. Yeah. Normally you would have around nine very good episodes per season and then three or four that were truly great. But during season five each one left me saying 'this show is f*ing amazing'. Season 2 was the worst for me. Not bad, but very un-interesting. Everything else has been consistently great.
  22. Yeah, I'm more engaged this season than I was with the previous ones. The plot is more cohesive and the storyline of Paige is finally getting somewhere.
