  1. The game seems to be selling very well. It sold three times the franchise's previous record in the UK.
  2. I will let the comments from Kotaku express my feelings: - “It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa,” Banks tells the website. Well, yeah, because it looks absolutely nothing like Rita Repulsa. I’m not saying the costume needed to be directly lifted from the original show, but this is so radically different that it might as well be a new villain. - She *looks* like a Power Rangers villain...just not the Power Rangers villain she’s supposed to be. - “It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa,” In that it in no way resembles Rita Repulsa at all? Very disappointed for now.
  3. It's really freaky how this franchise has been able to go on for this long. Not complaining, although I think they are wasting the potential of their own mythology. I do think that Awackening was released at the best time to break out, right in the middle of the modern vampire frenzy. Now it's probably too late to get anything more than a respectable profit margin.
  4. Why is Ratchet & Clank not included in that list? Not a big enough release?
  5. Hands down to Melissa McCarthy, to be honest. Her star power is undeniable. This bodes well for Ghostbusters.
  6. That was a time before the current fever of cinematic universes. Nowadays nobody would expect Jessica Jones to be played by anyone else than Krysten Ritter, for example.
  7. I totally think it's a PR trick. It can't be a coincidence that they figured a way for her to return to Gilmore the same day her new movie opens. Specially one that she wrote, produced, and stars. She wanted to take advantage of the power of a dedicated fandom, which is fair game, I guess.
  8. Because they are doing so well without us!
  9. With JL starting filming so immediately, I think any delay would just boost the budget and make things worse. I think for now the most sensible course of action is to try to cut costs during production and interfering as much as possible in the directing duties and (specially) the editing room.
  10. I'm glad to hear Greek Wedding 2 is overperforming. An OW in the range of $17M-$20M would be great.
  11. That's the bare minimum. 10 future blockbusters depend on the boost they get from this movie alone.
  12. I would say 180-200. During Deadpool OW people were saying that 200 for BVS was a given. I would be disappointed with 155.
  13. The budget for the first one was $5M! And this doesn't look more expensive at all.
  14. Oh, that ending is very good. I laughed out loud. Looks like your standard unnecesary sequel, but hopefully the characters and the script will make it entertaining.
  15. Thumbs up from THR: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/my-big-fat-greek-wedding-876519
  16. I hope for a rapid recovery, but those reports of him being run over by a car make it sound pretty serious.
  17. I actually like the poster, but I agree that it's ridiculous to make Alice look like a side-character in her own film.
  18. According to Forbes, Marvel Studios gets less than 5% from Fox movies, but they have the rights over all the merchandise, since the original deal only covers the films (and now TV shows): http://www.forbes.com/sites/davegonzales/2015/05/31/marvel-is-killing-x-men-and-fantastic-four-merchandising/#6351fcd65857 But since Marvel/Disney gets the whole revenue from their Avengers films, they shut down any X-Men and Fantastic Four merchandise, giving those franchises much less exposure and opportunities to get a big portion of the BO. A tactic that was obviously unsuccessful here.
