  1. September really kicked October 's ass this year. Eight releases made 40m+ Dom, (nine if you count War Room, which basically made all of its money in September) Hotel Transylvania 2(151.9m), Maze Runner 2(78m), The Intern(66.8m),The Visit(64.1m), Black Mass(61.5m), , The Perfect Guy(56.2m), , Everest(42.1m), Sicario(40.8m) . A Walk in the Woods (29m) which was a small indie that no one heard of, also broke out. ,
  2. Burnt and Our Brand is Crisis probably would have been better served opening in November. Ditto for Victor Frankenstein opening on this weekend instead.
  3. November 13 is going to be a boring weekend for openers: The 33, Love the Coopers, My All American and By The Sea is limited. Still surprised studios didn't put something bigger on that weekend, instead of stacking up Christmas Day.
  4. Not enough to be profitable. It needs to make atleast 450m to break even ,which is not happening without good US and China(might not even get a release there) BO.
  5. Rihanna is a terrible actress. This is going to flop and Europa will probably go out of business.
  6. I still cant believe this movie and The Hateful Eight are opening against each other. Do the studios not expect audience crossover?
  7. Creed is possible. But I agree that Daddy's Home and The Night Before won't do more than 90m at best.
  8. If Steve Jobs had kept Bale and Fincher on board it probably could have won the weekend. It's barely going to outgross Kutcher's Jobs bio-pic which was made on a 12m budget.
  9. I think they probably should have kept the original wide release of Oct 9 or pushed it to November. I dont think January would have been advantageous considering Hateful Eight and The Revenant.
  10. I dont know why this movie is still being made. Robin Williams death is still so fresh in people's minds.
  11. Meanwhile, The Intern has already grossed 60.8m and 138m WW, surprisingly becoming one of Anne Hathways biggest hits ever.
  12. probably pg-13. The trailer played in front of family films.
  13. steve jobs-20m PA5-14m Witch Hunter-13m Rock the Kasbah-6m Jem-4m
  14. Our Brand is Crisis? There's really no reason why it shouldn't open to atleast low to mid teens. Although it surprisingly has very low buzz for a Sandra Bullock film so that could spell trouble.
  15. A few of these films could have moved to August though. Not necessarily be a breakout success but atleast they'd have more room to breath.
  16. Yeah the budget does make sense for this film and it paid off because it looks beautiful. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the audience was there.
  17. Lionsgate probably mitigated most of the cost by selling it in overseas markets. Still that is a huge budget for a fairly obscure fantasy/horror title.
  18. Joy, The Revenant and Concussion I think Hateful Eight doesn't look as good as Django, they shouldn't be opening it so close to The Revenant which has a bigger star and trailer looks better as well.
  19. Crimson Peak is going to have a big drop next weekend. People are pissed that it's not a straight horror film, much more of a Gothic fantasy/romance tale.
