  1. I'm getting the feeling this won't even live up to the mediocrity set by the first film and will be just plain bad (and not in a fun way either).
  2. I'd argue that the marketing campaigns for Independence Day and The Phantom Menace were the most memorable and effective. I saw the original Jurassic Park 5 times in theaters, a personal record for me.
  3. Relax, baumer. It's no secret that The Blair Witch Project was a very divisive film (even if it had a very vocal set of detractors after it became known it wasn't real).
  4. Hey, I was one of the few people who saw Mike and Dave! At least I wasn't the one who paid.
  5. I just want some bullshit like Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates getting in top 10 just to watch the meltdowns unfold.
  6. This is gonna bomb, especially in such a packed month. Looks extremely derivative and neither Gyllenhaal or Reynolds have ever been reliable draws.
  7. "I gotta go, Julia, we got cows."
  8. It was a different time when having a drop more than 40% was seen as bad, unlike today. Wild Wild West that same summer had respectable-looking legs compared to movies today and no one would ever argue that movie was anything but reviled. It was a few weeks until the backlash fully kicked in, one could say it was felt the most when the sequel saw such an astronomical drop (even if in part because it was a gigantic piece of crap) the following year despite a huge marketing push and a timely Halloween release.
  9. The Blair Witch Project was a movie most people didn't really like in the first place. As quick as it raised to the top was as quick as it fell to the bottom. I remember widespread reports of people demanding refunds after the movie.
  10. Remember when he made Sam Raimi's For the Love of the Game and there was a big stink that they had to cut a nude scene because they were worried his penis was too small?
  11. Have there been any articles stating what sales are like in comparison to the first movie? I know tracking has had it at half/less than half of the first movie. And buzz does feel really muted for this one in comparison to the insanity of when the first came out.
  12. Next weekend: The LEGO Batman Movie- $65M Fifty Shades Darker- $44M John Wick 2- $24M
  13. Most impressive run of its entire decade hands down, IMO.
  14. I remember seeing this when it came out and the audience freaked out over the ending.
  15. One of the worst sequels ever, and the original is one of my all time favorites. Too bad Sandra didn't follow Keanu's lead and hard passed on this.
  16. Oh, I like this new section. Waterworld is kinda a guilty pleasure despite the enormous critical derision and disastrous box office it endured.
  17. This is one franchise that should've stopped after the first movie. The Ring Two was horrible and this looks even worse.
  18. That's because not even the studios care about these movies. Rings was shot in early 2015 and was supposed to originally come out on November 13 the same year before getting bumped around the schedule. Paramount knew they had a turd on their hands.
