    Wu Jing just mentioned at the HK press conference of Wolf Warriors 2 that Jet Li, Donnie Yen and him are discussing a script and making a film together. I saw a clip of them celebrating Donnie's wedding anniversary, in the clip there id also Alibaba's Jack Ma. If this film is made... might break a lot of records.

    Nope. Other than the Ip Man movies starring Donnie Yen or Mermaid directed by Stephen Chow.. Basically other than Donnie Yen/Stephen Chow/Jet Li/Jackie Chan and Andy Lau... Most other China movies bomb outside of China. These handful of guys are big draws in Asia. Wujing(the actor in wolf warriors 2) is quite popular in Mainland but is almost unheard of in most other parts of Asia.

    Maoyan was at 7.9, now suddenly jumped to 8.6 for wolf warriors 2. Read some reviews from other countries - average popcorn film.

    Wolf Warrior's preview may be a mistake. Word of Mouth is similar to Wu Kong.. Maoyan below 8 doesn't bold well.

    I remembered when the first reviews of War for the Planet of the Apes first came out.... In the movie specific thread of War, there were murmurs about creating a club(wondering whether this is actually done) of WFTPOTA's 2nd Weekend bigger than Dunkirks OW. I am a huge fan of both so was quite pissed seeing that.. lol. Now Dunkirk's OW might beat War's OW.

    Yup. I just came out from Dunkirk... I know what you mean. It will not do well in China.

    Don't think it will do very well in Asia.. It will be forced against other Blockbusters when it is release in China(September). And in most other parts of Asia..presales are not looking very good. The trailer in theaters has not been resonating well with audiences.

    was there any competiton this weekend in South Korea? War of the Planet of the Apes' staggered release dates internationally is benefitting Homecoming - Homecoming literally has 2 weekends to itself in many regions. So i don't really think its about WoM being good, just nothing else to watch to be very honest.

    Hopefully not, but yeah... No word on production at all. Difficult to hit that Nov'18 release date.

    The new opener - Wu Kong's bad WoM is helping DM3.

    Wukong's bad WOM is beginning to drag down on its Box Office. Great title... whole China loves Sun Wu Kong, but WoM made its Friday smaller than its Thurs. If its Saturday is sub 80m.... then many studios wil regret not taking that July 21 Weekend slot. Good weekend but everyone is avoiding...too afraid of competition.

    Feminist watch this movie because its about equality and females finally as a lead of a superhero movie. But if the actresses is being treated unfairly compared to a man, the whole pro-equality effect is gone.
