I actually think the way JWFK ended sets up a potentially great sequel with higher stakes. If they build on that premise and make it appealing in the trailers, I'd say the sequel's OW has a chance to increase.

Yay for Conan! My favorite anime and manga. Incredible success this year.

Happy for Universal! The only studio aside from Disney that continues to churn $1B WW movies with several franchises. Since 2014, no other studio aside from Disney and Universal has succeeded in reaching $1B WW with any of its movies. Sony in 2017 came close with Jumanji but still couldn't reach the mark.

Yes that's me indeed - I am the foreign correspondent of Awards watch and all year long, I go to film festivals (Cannes, Venice, Berlin, BFI London and Annecy) and write weekly Oscar pieces on 2 races: Best Animated Feature and Best Foreign Language Film. Last Jedi total in China less than the OD of DM3, XXX and Resident Evil! Gotta love how crazy and unpredictable the China box office is. More interesting to follow than many markets including domestic.
