Most mportantly, if this weak increase also happened to the other films in release now too. If the weak increase applied to all, this should suggest people still don't think cinema is safe enough. If this only happened to tenet, then we are seeing some weak WoM response. From the way I see, SK weak saturday number pretty much reflected in all other films in top 10. and Italian numbers are too small to have meaningful interpretation, although all of them have much stronger saturday's surge.

Mulan pre-sales started in my country and the cinema confirmed there will be no IMAX shows for Mulan. Not sure if this IMAX commitment applied to other countries.

Nolan should have name tenet as Inversion . This will then create Nolan IN-trilogy. Inception, interstellar and inversion.

i always have impression france and germany box office are closely mirror each other. When I saw 8m was mentioned in the france thread, i thought similar opening number would be probable especially covid-19 situation is germany is so much more tamed.

I don't agree, Mulan had some hype before the worldwide lockdown, but it all gone within 6 months and disney seem fine to let the buzz died down. And all the negative perception to China Chinese post CoVid -19 probably isn't helping either.

that 36% drop got me worried about the box office actually, this suggest that no matter how small the number, the drop is going to be like the hold during normal time. The steady, slow burn kind of run may not happen.

The last Nolan's film that I truly enjoyed was Inception, every subsequent films was a downhill from there, except maybe Dunkirk , where he managed to down tone his self-absorbed and trying too hard to act cool direction, and fanboys bait anyway, I managed to convince few to watch IMAX with me in the name of support cinematic experience, Nolan is one of the most respected director after all .

This situation is even more complex than the tenet itself.. We have seen dozen of 3/5 review listed as rotten because of the review essay itself sound bad. On the other hand, some review are fresh although they got 2/5 or 2.5/5 review just because of there aren't any harsh criticism in the essay.

Why you have to ignore the 1.7m Oscar re-release gross? If Get out oscar re-release can be rolled into its original run , I don't see why not for Dunkirk
