  1. The man is totally, 100% correct. It's hilarious reading the responses to him though, especially from blue check marks. Love it, LOVE IT!
  2. Nobody said a female character having more to do is a bad thing. I specifically said it's annoying when filmmakers have to contrast that with stupid, useless male characters.
  3. I'm one of those who liked the teaser but I agree, the special look is even better!
  4. Well, this made it to $10M OW. Just barely. I figured it would be the other way around with Underwater. Both of those are going to die pretty quick.
  5. So, as most people thought, this was DOA. $7,008,297 opening weekend. If it drops 65-70% like The Grudge (69.2%), on its 2nd weekend it's looking at $2.1M to $2.45M. Ouch.
  6. Interesting. I'll have to check that out. I also want to read the original "The Turn of the Screw" story. This may turn out to be a bad movie but the fact it's based on a notable work adds some appeal for me on top of the curiosity I already had for it.
  7. In fairness, I believe he's saying something a lot of us thought at one point in time. at least before we got cast details and a trailer and all that. People have warmed up to it, me being one of them. Then there are those that wanted it the whole time. Good on them!
  8. I think as soon as it was apparent Joker started picking up some serious steam, Warner Bros. pretty much focused entirely on that and forgot about Just Mercy. Then again, I don't know how much difference marketing/campaigning would have made for JM. Maybe it's just not good enough. I don't know, I haven't seen it. I'm obviously talking from an awards perspective because it's clearly a crowd-pleaser and more than good enough as far as audiences are concerned.
  9. It's interesting how people seem to see CGI a lot differently. The CGI looked pretty awful to me. It made the film look like the January release it is. Granted, I haven't seen the 2nd trailer yet. Maybe it's better....
  10. You're right, but still lol, I'm enthused! Also enthused by your musings in the tracking thread that this could hit $40M 3-day. That would be a pleasant surprise indeed!
  11. It's aladdino (aka TombRaider), the cattiest poster on this forum.
  12. I don't blame you for having reservations. I originally did too. I've said this before: I have faith that this movie will show exactly why it was made. There will be something more to it than just being a Black Widow movie, or a favour to Scarlett, or whatever. This is the MCU we're talking about. There is a big picture behind every movie and everything within each movie.
  13. I didn't ask for it.....but I sure as hell want to see it!
  14. Great call on 1917! Great calls in general to be honest. Pretty damn close.
  15. Grabbed my Joker blu-ray and thinking of going to pick up Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as well. Between these and FvF and 1917 when they come out I'm going to own a good chunk of the BP nominees this year, not to mention having The Irishman and Marriage Story readily available on Netflix.
  16. Yeah I think Dern's performance in Marriage Story is overrated. It's good, don't get mr wrong, but it didn't feel ample enough for any accolades in my opinion. Kind of like Margot Robbie I OUaTiH.
  17. Kudos! You just described perfectly how I felt about the film as well. I felt and thought a lot of things but the dominant thing in my head was "How the hell did they do that??".
  18. I like this guy. He's realistic and pragmatic. He acknowledged he took a plane. He's clearly someone who knows we can do better but isn't living in a fantasy land either. I wasn't a fan at all of his clearly intoxicated Golden Globes speech, but I can't help but feel at least the guy is 100 times more real than so many other Hollywood elites and celebrities.
  19. 21% on RT after only 78 reviews. That seems pretty low.... Also, the audience score is at 67%. I know that can be bad, good or okay depending on the genre. How's that score for a comedy?
  20. I don't drive - due to medical reasons I can't even get a license - and it amazes me how much money I save by not having a vehicle. Or, rather, it amazes me just how little money those who make far more money than I do possess. The fact is, I still get around just fine, and I have the spare cash to arrange suitable transportation whenever needed (flights, charter busses, cabs, Ubers etc.). I miss driving, but God would life be reeeeally difficult if I had to put out a grand plus on a vehicle every month (insurance, car payment, fuel, maintenance etc.).
