  1. Simba’s Pride is only really “liked” by the low standards of the direct to video movies. There’s nothing that stands out about it. Kovu has a decent furry following, I guess, but that’s about it.
  2. I guess that makes sense, but I don’t know if it’s going to get that many more eyeballs on the film.
  3. I don’t get the point of this. Is this just WB hoping to win him back? Why this movie specifically?
  4. What faith? I don’t have any particular interest in this at all. I’m not expecting anything different from the other Deadpool movies. I’m just pointing out that Ryan Reynolds’ “improv” is pretty easy to work around.
  5. They apparently prioritized building actual sets, so I’m assuming the amount of work they’d need to do in post won’t be that significant. Plus, they had managed to get a lot of filming done before the strikes.
  6. I don’t know think TMNT is the kind of thing the Academy would pay much attention to in the first place.
  7. One things for sure, there’s gonna be a backlash if this doesn’t win Best Picture.
  8. Good for Lilly Gladstone for getting the leading actress nom.
  9. Avatar 3 has been delayed numerous times already, and finished filming all the way back in 2020. If it doesn’t meet its current release date, something would be seriously wrong.
  10. What is there left to do with this franchise? Are they going to do the human/dinosaur hybrid thing?
  11. I don’t see Spidey coming out any sooner than November 2025. December wouldn’t be an option either, because Disney has Avatar 3 coming out that month, and I doubt they’d be willing to move it to make way for Sony.
  12. I’ll believe it has some chance of getting made when they actually bother to announce a director and a lead actor.
  13. Somehow I doubt that people chose to stay home because they were mad at a fictional character over a five year old movie.
  14. Thunderbolts was originally meant to be the next Marvel movie after Cap 4, as well as the final movie of Phase Five, so it would make sense to move it to the May spot. I assume it’s supposed to serve as something of a continuation anyway.
  15. I imagine the majority of people were already aware that J.K. Rowling’s views haven’t had any actual impact on the popularity of the Wizarding World IP. Technically though, the Fantastic Beasts movies did fail because of her, but it was because of her own hubris and writing, rather than her views.
  16. I suppose the one advantage this could have over Morbius is that a lot of dudes are thirsty for Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney.
  17. Well, if it’s true that he self-funds his movies, then I guess Apple and Universal don’t care. It’s not their money.
  18. GvK isn’t my favorite film in the Monsterverse, but it’s difficult to argue that it yielded some desirable results for Legendary and WB. It’s little more than an excuse to bash action figures against each other, but unlike KotM, it fully embraces that and doesn’t bother pretending like it has anything meaningful to say. It’s short, to the point and delivered exactly what it promised.
  19. Since the Netflix shows have finally been definitively confirmed to be canon to the larger MCU, where does that leave the ABC shows?
  20. I imagine the fact that there’s just been the one trailer was Matthew Vaughn’s idea. It’s probably supposed to add to the “mystery” surrounding this film. At this point, I’m fairly certain that Vaughn and Jason Fuchs planted that rumor about Taylor Swift being the author of the supposed book for this movie that seemingly no one has read. They’re trying to be clever with the marketing here.
  21. I didn’t even know his movies are self-funded. That would explain how the Kingsman franchise is still planned to continue, despite how poorly the last one did.
  22. First off, chill out. All I was saying was that the entire basis for the MonsterVerse was inherently limited in scope, since it amounted to little more than “wouldn’t it be cool if someone did a remake of that old Togo film where Godzilla and King Kong fought?!” Second, what makes you think I was trying to suggest that KotM is high art? I don’t even like the film. I think it’s the weakest in the MonsterVerse precisely because it’s nowhere near as smart as it wants people to think it is. It’s dumb schlock, but it tries to present itself as if it has something deep and profound to say.
