The Pianist Everyone's heard of all the films on here, except for probably Kannathil Muthumital so FYC: An incredibly powerful melodrama involving the Sri-Lankan civil war and one of the most horrifying movies I saw as a kid. It's also from one of my favorite directors of all time (Mani Ratnam). Probably gonna do a rewatch of this myself. Gonna try to watch Femme Fatale, Solaris, Windtalkers, Far From Heaven, Demonlover, Unfaithful, and Devdas.

Jeff Fowler is directed the MCU Spider-man films tho.

Main thing I got out of this too. I remember watching him play Short Round in Indy 2 and getting annoyed that he didn't re-appear in any of the sequels and even more annoyed when I found out he practically didn't have an acting career afterwards. Really hope he actually gets to have one now (if that's what he wants). I think this movie would've failed without him and Yeoh.

This movie is getting Parasite-level reception from audiences. A24's campaign wouldn't have to be that strong if the movie maintains audience buzz into the fall.

Pretty good opening but I feel like releasing EEAAO right now wasn't a good move. It's so crowded and will probably impact the movie's legs. Really thinking this should've released in August. Would've boosted it's Oscar chances too.

The pre-Avengers and GOTG films look better than any 2018-2022 films from them. Just compare Asgard in Thor to Thor 3. Night and day.

Inarittu has an easier in since he has industry clout already, but I think the work abuse allegations will bite him in the ass. I think the win would be a toss between Thirteen Lives and She Said, if both end up getting nominated (probably gonna be the worst two films out of the ones I listed too lol).
