    King Kong is described as being 25 feet tall. The new Godzilla is 350 ft tall. What is King Kong going to use to defeat Godzilla? Kryptonite? Climb on top of Empire State and dive down on Godzilla?

    Prometheus opened big because fans were waiting for the xenomorphs to pop out anytime on the screen... Imagine the disappointment. Hence: Alien 5. Judging by the hardware on display from Blomkamp's previous films, Alien 5 will be chockfull of Space Marines action.

    The recent Apes movies are very different in tone with the original series. Both Apes movies are excellent movies in their own right, found new audience and paid complement to the original fans

But bear in mind, Spectre's gross has to be split with the Broccoli's & MGM (copyright holder). I don't know how much is Sony's share but I remember someone saying Sony gets an unimpressive number for Skyfall.

    Tom Cruise has played so many government agent & military types that all of them kind of blend together: a fighter pilot (Top Gun 1 & 2), a Navy lawyer (A Few Good Men), a intelligence agent (MI), a military police (Reacher) And he was slated to play another spy in UNCLE?? I wish Cruise go back to doing drama/comedy stuff like The Firm or Jerry Maguire. I really like his under-achiever character in War of the Worlds.

    Self-indulgence is the reason why people love that movie. Me too. It is unusual & fresh. But I hope he does not use it too much here....

    @ terrestrial: I love the way you group the weekly grosses according to the studios. They should do this with the weekend numbers. Or monthly report on the studio's performances.
