  1. Great to see Disney continue to flounder. Re: Napoleon, I’ve actually heard a few people in Real Life talk about it, which is very rare for movies these days. Happy to eat crow if it finishes with a good total but it’s probably safe to say that isn’t happening. I want Scott to succeed as much as anyone but his storytelling instincts have been fuzzy for while.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I’m sure the movie’s ok, like all marvel and marvel adjacent movies.
  3. Is no way home that bad? There were raves when it came out but it’s basically a running joke now.
  4. i remember thinking it was ok but (as with modern day captain america) wondering what the fish out of water comedy we never got would’ve been like. They do it for about five minutes with Thor then it’s forgotten
  5. I generally don’t like superhero movies but I don’t pretend to not get their appeal. Cap 4… I still have no idea what they’re thinking. It’s a big ask to get people to pay for a movie follow up to a beloved tv show. But they’re asking people to pay for a movie follow up to falcon and the winter soldier. So honest question: what am I missing? Is it really as simple as marvel believing “well it’s the new captain America, he’s got to have a movie (shrugs)”
  6. 99% of the time I’ve heard it in relation to this movie it’s been from people imagining a misogynistic bogeyman that magically made the whole world not want to go to the cinema to see it.
  7. Impressive for saltburn. Weirdly I’ve no desire to see it even though I want movies like this to do well. Just don’t have the appetite for a class satire I guess.
  8. Maybe I’m old but I still find it impossible to care about audience scores. The only interesting part is how much more they’re talked about now. The nice thing about box office is it tends to have the final word on success.
  9. I've been here for years and I’ve still no idea what movies people are referencing half the fucking time
  10. It is crazy. One wonders whether so many people being underwhelmed by it resulted in much of the indifference we’re seeing now.
  11. I have no opinion on her ability but she’s certainly an odd choice given the 50 Shades films feel like a lifetime ago and that’s all anyone would know her for. I’d get it if she was flavour of the month but she’s not even that.
  12. Pascal’s a boring choice but I find myself agreeing that ‘boring’ is ok for marvel right now. From what I’m seeing on Reddit no-one seems particularly excited by him but they’re not outraged either, so job done. This isn’t the time for risks.
  13. I know he’s the internet’s boyfriend right now but I feel like Pascal would be a boring choice. He was just ok in Last Of Us. He’s at his best when he’s flamboyant.
  14. Got bored halfway through and stopped watching. Always a good sign for a trailer. (incidentally, knowing nothing about this, I thought the euphoria girl was the lead, but I guess not)
  15. Way better reviews than I was expecting honestly. Always rooting for Scott but it’s annoying we’re still doing the ‘don’t worry the director’s cut will sort it out’ dance.
  16. I have D+ and must admit I’m now slightly tempted to check out Marvels after all this. And I haven’t watched a single MCU film since endgame.
  17. I saw someone on Twitter saying Chris Pratt was Garfield and thought it was a joke after all the Mario casting fanfare but no, he is actually Garfield.
  18. nothing wrong with having a wry smile at Hollywood’s monomania coming back to bite it in ass. Who knows how well this film will do but the general downturn was always coming.
  19. I’m not gonna say it’s nothing. But I don’t think it’s tens of millions
