We tend to underestimate audiences. The massive majority of them aren't as bigoted as all that. SW7 and BatB opening huge despite the nontroversies surrounding them is proof of that. As for Zendaya in particular, I'm interested in seeing how she fares in Homecoming and The Greatest Showman. If she proves she has the appeal and chops and breaks out (she is already popular but I meant on an even bigger scale thanks to these two movies), then sure, go for it. Casting her as Ariel would also be hilariously cool because then she'd be playing the live action versions of redheaded girlfriends of both famous animated characters voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes in the late 80's/early 90's: Prince Eric and Peter Parker/Spider-Man

I think Aladdin will be the next Disney live action fairytale to be big in India. Not JB level obviously, but impressive enough. The original animation seems to have been far more popular in the country than the other Renaissance films (correct me if I am wrong), going by the number of Indian imitations to be found online, and I've seen petitions requesting for Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone to be cast as Jasmine.

And he wanted to continue after First Class, only he wanted to do Kingsman first and he had a different idea for the X-prequel trilogy where he wanted a complete period film set in the 70's with a recast Wolverine post-FC, and then an 80's set DoFP after the 70's X-flick with Hugh Jackman meeting NuWolverine. It was Fox and Singer/Kinberg who decided to go with DoFP set in the future and immediately after FC, sans Vaughn and a younger actor playing 70's Wolverine. DC cannot do it for their marquee characters and franchises. BvS was the third highest selling toy merchandise of 2016 behind Trolls and Dory so they hanging on to those family accessible PG-13's. Fox cannot make money off X-Men merch so they can do whatever they want with the movie ratings.

That strong number for a royally screwed up take on ATLA makes me weep for the shocking waste of immense potential. It was supposed to be the next Harry Potter dammit.
