  1. I remember seeing this movie as a kid and liking it. I saw it again about 2 years ago and liked it again though that maybe due to nostalgia. I mean it is very 80s, and dated but I still enjoyed watching it.
  2. Groundhog Day for me, though it is close. What About Bob?, Caddyshack, and Ghostbusters also rank highly.

  5. Uncheck that. The real life Joy Mangano was born in 1956 and invented the Miracle Mop in 1990. So it's probably going to be more of a late 20th century setting (80s and 90s).
  6. What's most impressive to me is Titanic. It's been almost 20 years since it came out, and to date only 1 movie has beaten it's OS and WW totals with or without China. Even if you don't count its 2012 reissue, Titanic's $1,242.4m OS total and $1,843.2m WW total would still be #2 with FF7's OS total being $89.1m short.
  7. No, Tiger Woods was a billionaire before his divorce. http://www.theweek.co.uk/sport/19467/tiger-woods-becomes-sport%E2%80%99s-first-billionaire

  9. I don't really care, as long as it fits with the movie. In fact I find that some product placement makes movies feel more realistic to me rather than using generic made up products.
  10. 1. Robocop 2. Total Recall 3. Starship Troopers 4. Basic Instinct 5. Showgirls 6. Hollow Man
  11. I'd still go with Lou Ferrigno as Hulk. Lou was bigger than Arnold and younger.
  12. Funny enough I was just thinking of seeing Innerspace again. That was one of my favorite movies back in the day.
  13. I for one think its good to limit the nominees. Too many and it gets watered down and makes being a nominee less special.
  14. This looks good to me. At least from a box office/awards season point of view.
  15. Still waiting for Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.
  16. Yeah, that sucks. Its showing in 5 theaters within 45 minute drive from my house. Yet they can't put it in a few theaters in Canada?
  17. On the All-Time US Box Office chart, which movie is the highest on the list you have yet to see? Mine would be Shrek 2.
  18. Funny, enough the film that got me interested in weekend box office returns was Twister in May/June 1996. The weekly television guide we got in the mail had the box office returns from the previous week under the Thursday section. I remember seeing how Twister was making all this money, and then Independence Day opened and blew it away. Even before then I was aware of the total domestic grosses as I liked reading the Guinness Book of World Records which had a section with the top 10 all time US grosses. I remember the first time I saw it, and being surprised that E.T. was #1.
  19. It should be noted that PG-13 wasn't introduced until July 1 1984 (Red Dawn is considered the first PG-13 movie). That's why older movies like Jaws, and Raiders of the Lost Ark are PG.
  20. - The Hunger Games: might surprise some to see it listed here, but it made over $400m when few predicted it to make over $200m. It had a relatively small budget ($78 million), it had no 3D and it opened in March. - The Avengers: A $207m opening weekend followed by a $103m 2nd weekend? How is that not unbelievable? - Shrek 2: I remember when this opened and people were somewhat disappointed by the opening Wednesday and Thursday grosses thinking it would disappoint, but then it exploded with a $108m OW, and went onto make $441m. - Avatar: James Cameron does it again with another Titanic like run in 2009 which ushered in the era of 3D.
  21. 1. Beetlejuice 2. Batman 3. Batman Returns 4. My Life 5. Multiplicity 6. Mr. Mom
