  1. Now I hope JLaw wins the Oscar just to watch people here go nuts.
  2. So, I guess we can say TDK will be the highest grossing trilogy, and The Hunger Games will be the highest grossing Quadrilogy.
  3. Very nice. I think it will hit $390m by the end of the weekend and probably ding $400m on Thursday or Friday.
  4. Well, one thing is for sure. The Hobbit trilogy won't be following the Lord of the Rings trilogy model of each movie having an increase in box office total over the previous movie.
  5. 1. Scrooged 2. A Christmas Story 3. Gremlins 4. Trading Places 5. Its a Wonderful Life 6. Die Hard 7. Christmas Vacation 8. Home Alone 9. Elf 10. Bad Santa
  6. I could be wrong, but I think $31.25m makes CF's 2nd Friday the biggest ever. I'm looking at the top non-opening Friday's list on BOM and the only movies with a bigger non-opening Friday were Wednesday and Thursday openers (Friday was day 2 or 3). Top 10 2nd Fridays. 1. Catching Fire - $31.25m (est.) 2. The Avengers - $29.22m 3. Avatar - $25.27m (3rd Friday) 4. The Dark Knight - $23.23m 5. Avatar - $23.09m (2nd Friday) 6. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - $22.98m 7. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - $22.77m 8. Toy Story 2 - $22.60m 9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - $20.83m 10. Shrek 2 - $20.15m
  7. 1. Batman and Robin 2. Caddyshack 2 3. Mr. Nanny 4. Superman IV: The Quest for Peace 5. Super Mario Brothers 6. The Punisher (1989) 7. Godzilla (1998) 8. Little Nicky 9. Thin Red Line 10. Rocky V 11. Junior 12. 3 Ninjas 13. Charlie's Angels 2
  8. Yup, a $145m-$150m OW is still pretty damned good. Specially since CF gets to benefit from the Thanksgiving holiday coming up this week.
  9. Yeah maybe someone could explain to me how this is a disappointment.

  11. My worst, I recall predicting Avatar wouldn't make over $300 million. Also back in 02' I was among those thinking Spider-Man wouldn't make more than $250 mil and Attack of Clones would make over $400 mil. I guess that my best would be predicting that Revenge of the Sith would mark a rebound for Star Wars and make around $350-$370 mil.
  12. Dr. Strange and Ms. Marvel are the ones I'd most like to see added to the MCU.
  13. War of the Worlds (2005) - The first half of the movie was great, but went downhill after the riverboat scene. Back to the Future Part II - The beginning scenes when Doc and Marty travel to 2015 are great, but later when they travel back to 1955 kind of felt like a rehash of the first movie.
  14. Not sure how unpopular these are but... I wish Thor wore his helmet in the movies (Thor, and The Avengers) I also wish that Bryan Singer had the X-Men wear their classic comic book costumes
