Jandrew
Do it. It's really fun. Go at it buddy. I love see you guys panic when your predictions go wrong I think I will. And 2014 being such a strange year should make it real interesting. Yeahh, I'll give it a shot!
Louis Lux
So when bo.com says mos budget is 300 million they surely dont mean the marketing for that was just 80 mill? It's an estimative just like every other figure given. They're generally a bit more conservative than other media coverage sites, but personally I feel that some budget reports are wildly over estimated. Studios get tax rebates and make promotional deals that probably offset some of the budget costs.

tonytr87
Re: WHD Where are people going to learn that old-school action doesn't sell anymore. If you're lucky it'll gross 100mil (Olympus) or a little more (Expendables), but otherwise they rarely appeal to a large audience. The last decade's onslaught of superheroes, aliens, wizards, supernatural pirates, and giant robots has ensured that guns n' missiles movies are passe` to audiences now. The only outlier is the Fast franchise, but even those required outlandish car chases/stunts and an Expendables/Avengers-esque cast reunion to give them their current boost. Edit: Bond and Mission: Impossible don't count for obvious reasons. Edited July 1, 2013 by tonytr87
