Civil War vs Age of Ultron daily grosses (Wed and Thu for CW are projections)

FRI: 8.53 - 10.95

SAT: 8.79 - 11.75

SUN: 9.81 - 12.91

MON: 4.59 - 5.40

TUE: 4.05 - 4.60

Civil War seems to be holding better than Ultron, but not enough. Ultron got 53Cr in first week, Civil War will get 42-43Cr.

I expect a better drop for Civil War in second week(60-65%) compared to what Ultron got(69%).

Will finish with 65-70Cr ($14M).

With the addition of Spiderman, which is extremely popular in India, it should have done atleast 20 million.

Most people don't know there is SM in the film. And anyway TASM movies have killed all the enthusiasm for SM.

Hollywood films giving Bollywood a run for its money?

There just haven't been any big ticket Bollywood movies this year. SRK's movie was Fan, which to be fair was not exactly what audiences want to see him in. Sultan and Dangal will both do well, but for some reason there just aren't the big mass audience pleasing movies yet this year.

Airlift did really well and so did Baaghi but the first one did so over a period of time, and Baaghi didn't have the big star power. Housefull 3 looks like it will be a 100 crore movie as well. Bollywood does seem like it is getting very fragmented and releasing more targeted movies as opposed to the mass entertainers this year.

Looks like Rogue One may have to delay release for a week similar to Force Awakens. Dangal and Befikre are both looking at Dec 16 as their release date, even if one moves away, the other by itself should be in a super wide release that weekend.

Also, Force Awakens wasn't exactly a hit in India, its OD made up half the OW take.

Going to watch Sultan today. Looks like the Eid release formula works for Salman, Christmas is for Aamir and Diwali is normally SRK but Raees is apparently not done filming. Don't think Shivaay will do that well over Diwali for some reason, Ajay Devgan is just not the huge draw the Khans are.

Raaes was done filming a while ago, but has been delayed a few times. Heard that they are doing reshoots.

Watched Sultan. First half is great. Then 30-35 mins of 2nd half is solid. And then the last 45 mins or so was ripoff of Brothers and not that engaging.

Piracy and mixed wom will prevent this from reaching the heights of Bajrangi Bhaijan. Infact, it opened lower than Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on first day! Still expecting it to gross more than that movie otherwise would be considered a box-office disappointment.

Sultan has been holding well and grossed around 34Cr in its 2nd weekend for a 263Cr+ total.

It will comfortably cross 300Cr mark now and should finish with around 305Cr.

So now Salman will have 2 out of 3 in the 300Cr club.
