I have been noticing for the past several years, every single movie of Hrithik Roshan is usually underestimated big time by BOI.

 

The other star numbers seem to be close enough wit the trades.

BOI numbers are lower for most movies. But yes for Kaabil the difference is too big. There are many articles and accusations going around on Rakesh Roshan for manipulating the numbers. Many exhibitors and trade analysts are doubtful of the numbers and they have mentioned this on twitter. While other sites like bollyarena, indicine etc have articles on this issue. RR was accused of this even during Krrish 3. Taran Adarsh have stopped giving Kaabil numbers after Friday while he reports/gives number for Raees. May be the actual numbers are in between.

The Krrish 3 debacle was ridiculous. Everyone had lower numbers apart from Rakesh Roshan. In fact, Krrish 3 was excluded from year-end box office lists by most websites as they refused to parrot RR's numbers.

 

Also, you just reminded me that Krrish 3 exists, and for that I will never forgive you :P

BATB might end with just about 3M (optimistically) compared to the almost 40M Jungle Book ended with. 2.5M would be more likely

 

 
The collections of Beauty And The Beast were actually more than the three Hindi releases combined as the former got around 1.50 crore nett while the three Hindi films combined were at just 1 crore nett apprx. This is not to saw that Beauty And The Beast is good as occupancy is low and these type of films don't really have a market in India

I think Aladdin will be the next Disney live action fairytale to be big in India. Not JB level obviously, but impressive enough. The original animation seems to have been far more popular in the country than the other Renaissance films (correct me if I am wrong), going by the number of Indian imitations to be found online, and I've seen petitions requesting for Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone to be cast as Jasmine.

It's opening day record is going to stand for few years ( if combined all languages )

 

It will be a huge event for sure. The OD record (combined) is going down for sure. And since it has an extended weekend, the OW will be huge as well.

 

 

F8 opens today apparently. Weird choice to open mid week.

OD is not only going down , it will stand tall for few years.

 

Since it's friday is holiday for Good friday , they can afford opening today evening , it's a nice move

Just watched #FF8

Last half an hour is the saving face , that too is okay with over the top action sequences and too much of CGI

The director / writer didn't properly establish the plot (which is already boring non-sense plot) / characters..movie goes zig-zag , also has no proper establishment shots most times just like Batman vs Superman

Luckily movie manages to be on the border line , enuf to mint money at the boxoffice with it's established popularity

yes..current day-1 record holder is PRDP with around 40c nett...Baahubali-2 will do double the business...

Dont think booking plans have opened yet. Most go on sale on Monday of release week. Expecting a huge OD.
