As much as i would like to see Mahabharata done on a massive scale with A list actors, I am afraid no one will be satisfied because everyone has his/her favourite character in the epic and it can't be done in just 1-2 movies. Need like 4-5 parts to cover most if not all story beats. I think bollywood should try to adapt Ramayan first.

True. Mahabharata cannot be done properly in couple of movies given how vast and how many characters are there. Needs at least 4 as you mentioned.

How about 3 movies about war. Then a prequel triology. And then a trilogy about what happened after the war.:P

So which country has highest grossing movie in that country?

I am writing how much I know

USA (star wars VII) - 930 million

China (mermaid) - 510 million

Japan (spirited away) - 260 million

France (intouchables) - 210-230 million

UK (star wars VII) - 190? Million

If  bahubali 2 do 230-240 million in india, it will be great.

Imo a balanced Mahabharat film would do quite well, instead of becoming a very religious film about Krishna.

I remember watching the battle in the old TV serial.

When Karn and Arjuna battled it was EPIC!

The effects are wacky but it's actually quite enjoyable

The Old series had some great acting especially the people who played Karn, Arjuna, Bhisma (was the hightlite easily) and others.

Mahabharata can actually be structured very similarly to LOTR. The first part has the initial intros, a battle scene to show the prowess of the different players and it ends with the dice scene and the Pandavas being sent away. The second part follows the pandavas mainly when they regroup and plan their revenge once the exile is done and shows how the Kauravas are governing and the issues the common man is facing and it ends with the triumphant return of the Pandavas and the declaration of war. The third part can be the out and out war movie with great VFX that the Mahabharata deserves.

As the guy says in Om Shanti om rather hilariously...

SUPERHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

The Dice Scene would be a great ending but I think Part 2 needs a battle as well.

However Part 3 would make up for it, the thing is such movies can made but studios avoid them as the cost to give them justice is insane.

Just don't make it melodramatic and don't a unnecessary romantic subplot.

Monday it did humongous 40crrs in Hindi version alone and almost similar to Friday thanks to the holiday. Let see how it goes from here. Tuesday no official numbers but its floating between 22-28crrs. Also the ticket rates have came down considerably now. Lets see how it fares.
