Indian Box Office Thread | Jawan overtakes Pathaan, becomes highest grossing Indian movie of 2023

Recommended Posts

Watched "Talaash" and i have to say, as a huge Aamir Khan fan, i am definitely feeling somewhat disappointed by the movie. I guessed the twist when a character gets killed in a construction site and spent the next 20 minutes hoping that would not be where the movie was going. In fact, me and a friend pretty much had the movie mapped from that point forward till the end. When the actual reveal came, a lot of people started laughing in the theater. The worst part is that the twist could have worked, but you feel like the movie cheated you when the genre-shift hits.Aamir Khan was good and so was Nawazuddin, Kareena was okay, Ranu Mukherjee was wasted in the role.In this case, I have to agree with what most of my friends put up on FB and Twitter - Amazing first half, sets up a lot of questions and a central mystery and then forgets about the mystery in the second half and the final answer we get is not worth waiting for.I am not saying I regretted watching the movie. Not at all, the movie is not bad considering some of the releases this year. And the reveal is hinted at throughout the movie, while thinking back the only scene which does not fit the reveal is the

Introduction of Rosie, i think we can assume it is a flashback but it is not made clear at all. She is introduced when Shashi comes asking for 3 girls and she is then shown sitting in between 2 other girls in the cab. No one talks to her in the scene though. So either Shashi only went back with 2 girls and Rosie is already dead or it is a flashback.

This will IMHO be Aamir Khan Productions' weakest movie by far. Well, even Pixar isn't perfect anymore and all streaks have to come to an end sometime.

The 2012 run still surprises me to this day. Plenty of my friends watched it, and everyone said "The crust moving is done well but the movie itself is okay". Somehow, this lukewarm word of mouth led this movie to be the second highest grosser in India. I remember the marketing campaign for the movie and it was really similar to "The Day After Tomorrow".

Isn't 3 Idiots record around 210 crore so that would be very close to all time number 1. I liked Dabangg and definitely interested in part 2, hopefully it's as funny as the first one.Can LOP pass TASM be the 3rd biggest Hollywood movie in India?

I don't think LOP can get that high... it is losing most of the shows this weekend, but it can crawl to #4 though. And yes, Dabangg 2 will definitely Challenge 3 Idiot's collections. Edited by Fake
