CoolioD1
One place where there is correlation - Margin Call won best debut feature at NBR! Hopefully such an awesome film doesn't get ignored. Maybe a screenplay nomination or something.
rockNrollaDIM
I'm happy to see Drive and 50/50 getting love this week from Indie Spirts and now NBR. Sweet.Did anyone tell Noctis that DH2 got a mention??
CoolioD1
I think there must be an embargo on Dragon Tattoo, but the fact it made top 10 is the first sign of it's good quality, I guess.

cozmeesah
Is there a list of when the film critic awards are? I do not feel like type each one in to find when they are. This is as close as I could find:http://www.awardsdaily.com/awards-calendar/Doesn't show nearly all of them though. Gopher
I'm loving this start to the awards season. So many nice unexpected wins. I actually hope we don't get a clear frontrunner for a while.
Kevin Bacon
It really sucks when there is a frontrunner, because you can always count on the Academy to be trite and choose it. I was begging for Basterds or Social Network to surprise, but I deep down new they wouldn't happen. Even if the film I don't want to win wins, I'd prefer it to be a surprise as opposed to a dreaded disappointment.
rockNrollaDIM
The King's Speech really was such a bland and boring pick. The movie is almost totally forgettable. Have no desire to ever see that again. They called it a big emotional crowd pleaser, but I don't know, I thought it was mostly cold.
RichWS
What I notice about the NBR top 10 is the absence of Moneyball and Midnight in Paris.
Noctis
OMFG! DH2 was in the top ten?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! OMG!
CloneWars
NBR's BP winner tends not to win BP, right? Anyway, what are the chances of Hugo getting a BP nom? It pretty much flopped on opening.

CoolioD1
NBR's BP winner tends not to win BP, right? Anyway, what are the chances of Hugo getting a BP nom? It pretty much flopped on opening. This may be true, but in the last twenty years only ROTK was not on NBR's top 10 and managed to win BP. So there might be a winner in there. i think Hugo has a great chance at a nomination.
CoolioD1
OMFG! DH2 was in the top ten?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! OMG! The franchise also won a "Special achievement in filmmaking" award that I didn't put up.

Kevin Bacon
My concerns about Dragon Tattoo not meshing with awards season are being confirmed. However, largely predictable outside of the unexpected Drive and Win Win love. Good to see that.
CoolioD1
Very nice showing for Drive, though it was always going to do well with critics. Does the Andy Serkis nod mean anything serious towards his Oscar campaign? Probably not. Edited December 4, 2011 by CoolioD1
