Really liked the pilot! The guy playing Constantine is great, but I think the character is soo different (see the movie where tey americanized him) that americans will not watch this...

I'm not super versed in lore surrounding Constantine. I've never read Hellblazer nor am I reading his current on-going title. 

What I know largely comes from crossovers with Swamp Thing or his role in Justice League Dark.

 

So, largely I feel as if I can judge this with less bias cause my expectations aren't as stringent as say Gotham.

That said I felt the pilot was adequate. I thought the production value was high and would like to see more.

 

Based on reading the thread it seems that Liv(Lucy Griffiths of BBC Robin Hood and True Blood) will not be coming along for the ride? Bummer, I rather like her. Is her role being recast? They seemed to pin a heavy bit of importance on her and what type power she contains(can contain). 

 

It seems traveling the country, following Liv's scrying map, will allow for variation. Almost a "what if Buffy went to each Hellmouth" type scenario. Plus the traveling allows for appearances by other magic/supernatural DC characters to appear. The Dr.Fate helmet not withstanding. Visit a city with a traveling circus=Deadman, visit Louisiana=Swamp Thing, go play some slots in Vegas=Zatanna and we could go on: Nightmare Nurse, Black Orchid, Madame Xanadu, Shade the Changing Man, Specter, Phantom Stranger etc etc

 

I'll keep checking it out.

The second episode was pretty bad. Which is probably why they didn't let critics see it ahead of time.

Hopefully the next few episodes are more like the pilot, otherwise the show will likely get canceled.

I liked both episodes, but don't bother (unless you have a Neilsen box  ) since the show is going to get cancelled soon.
