CloneWars
If VHS sales were included either TLK or Star Wars would be the all-time top seller.
Greg1939
Actually titanic would've been #1.
chasmmi
I don't understand why it is so hard to have definitive data on DVD sales. Considering Cinema box Office figures are often to the dollar.Especially considering CD and game sales are monitored. I don't get why its so hard, or so unwanted to have DVD sales numbers.
Squaremaster316
Speaking of home video, I was just checking out the DVD/Bluray history of The Dark Knight at 'the-numbers'17,732,518 DVDs2,610,215 Blurays since July 21, 2009 (when they were first being tracked), several months after the actual release of the bluray, meaning the vast majority were sold beforehand and this is just runoff!20,342,733 tracked disks, plus millions in blu rays that weren't accounted for!TDK was a JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!!!

I was at Wal-Mart the other day and noticed an empty price tag slot that said TDK. Completely sold out of it. Not sure if they had it on sale or what, but that movie is definitely very popular on home video. Seems like everyone has it.

ecstasy
Oops. Here's the note: " Sales estimates are for sales since July 21, 2009, when our Blu-ray sales tracking started. Sales for The Dark Knight are therefore incomplete. All other titles have complete data. The release date is the date of the original release of the title on video." vc2002
I seem to remember reading at some site some time ago saying Avatar sold over 8m units and TA over 5m. Those numbers seem quite low to me. Edited October 16, 2013 by vc2002
Lordmandeep
I thought TDKR outsold TA on DVD and blue Ray. Thats what I heard on other websites. Looks to be false.
