rukaio101
Figured, since it's coming up to Halloween, one of these might be a fun idea and would definitely beat the many 'scariest films/best horrors' threads that keep popping up. (Although this has probably been done before too.) The idea is for this to work like Telemachos's Top 20 action scenes list. So the scene has to be a fully self-contained scene or sequence... intercutting is fine, but that has to be part of the whole overall sequence. Also, the scene doesn't have to be from a straight-up horror movie. As long as it's scary, it's fine. And you can't just cheat and say 'the whole movie' either. You can vote for any number of scenes, from 1 to 20, but make sure to order them. Points will be allocated like so. 1. 10 points 2. 6 points 3. 5 points 4. 4 points 5. 3 points 6-10. 2 points 11-20. 1 point The deadline is currently Halloween, but if enough people have yet to vote, I'll extend it. Enjoy.

Walt Disney
Awesome! Samara coming out of the TV in the Ring for the win. The end of the first Friday the 13th is taking this one for me. I still watch it and as I'm sitting there relaxing, enjoying a classic horror flick, *BOOM* it happens.

chasmmi
Would a situation that is frightening and scary but not in the 'horor' sense be a valid vote. For example the opening sequence in ''Buried' is a truly terrifying thing to watch but it is exactly 'scary' per se. Closest thing I can find to the scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Yyhxq56Xg
