grim22
Uh, why Isn't late July hellaciously packed Yup, in the span of 4 weeks we get the Ghostbusters reboot, Star Trek Beyond, Bourne and Suicide Squad. STID didn't do all that well with the competition it had in 2013.

WrathOfHan
Everyone wins in the end. Pets can win OW, Star Trek will still beat Ice Age and it can have some good August legs. Plus that's one helluva four week span.

TServo2049
Why are the studios apparently on crazy pills as far as scheduling 2016? It feels like everything has been concentrating into certain weekends, when everything seemed like it was going to be more nicely spread out a few months ago... I'm being hyperbolic on purpose, but really, why does stuff keep moving around? Edited September 18, 2015 by TServo2049
CoolioD1
paramount probably liked what happened w/ the late july release of mi5, but even if star trek is as good it's not gonna pull the same legs with bourne and suicide squad on its ass.
CJohn
MI5 had no competition. Star Trek will face Bourne and Suicide Squad
Ethan Hunt
MI5 had no competition. Star Trek will face Bourne and Suicide Squad Both of which will most likely be ---- films than Star Trek. Star Trek should move to October or something.

grim22
Both of which will most likely be nigger films than Star Trek. Star Trek should move to October or something. The perfect release date from a marketing as well as competition perspective is Sep 8 2016, exactly 50 years after the premiere of Star Trek. It could definitely open big and have legs through September, especially with studios now open to year-round blockbusters.
