iceroll
A while back in my Catching Fire 200m OW/ OD Record club obituary (here: http://forums.boxoffice.com/index.php?/topic/9713-catching-fire-od-record200m-ow-club-rip-obituary-on-page-130/?p=1139757), I promised a song dedicated to Catching Fire's box office run and in the past few weeks I've been working hard making this So now that CF's passed IM3 for the 2013 domestic crown, I proudly present to you: Catching Fire Wrecking Ball Sung to the tune of: We cried, complained, our hearts in pain When we saw, early numbers for Friday But surely, it chugged, and now, it’s hit Number one of the year today All the haters say “it will fade away” Now we’re laughing at you “Katniss is too fat, JLaw couldn’t act” Now we’re laughing at you She came in like a wrecking ball Wrecked all the other moo-oovies Domestically it beat them all, Now it’s number one of 2013! Nothing rhymes with thirteen!? The gross climbed high up in the sky And now, it’s not coming down Strong legs it earned, and fire did burn Other films are ashes on the ground DM2, IM3, tried but they got beat The yearly champ is Katniss Hobbit, Man of Steel, Monsters U, they all kneel Bow down to queen Katniss She came in like a wrecking ball Knocked all the other movies down All the other movies look so small All she ever did was wreck thee She came in like a wrecking ball Yeah, she just took her bow and flung Records crashing in a blazing fall All she ever did was wreck thee Now it’s, got the glory The Mockingjay has won the war So crack a bottle and get the gin We about to celebrate This victory’s a major win The Mockingjay has won the war So crack a bottle and get the gin The lesser films could never win All the fans will say “today was the day” We will always remember She came in like a wrecking ball Yeah, she just took her bow and flung Records crashing in a blazing fall All she ever did was wreck thee She came in like a wrecking ball Wrecked all the other moo-ovies Domestically it beat them all Now it’s number one of 2013 Nothing rhymes with thirteen?! Cmasterclay
Very interested to see Lone Survivor preview numbers. Started at 8 last night, and the 8 showing sold out, so I had to see it at 10 (and that nearly sold out.) Very diverse crowd too, Still have a feeling this does 30+

tilko
I really hope Lone Survivor becomes a HIT in USA, Peter Berg really deserve it. Battleship is so much better than GI Joe 1-2, Clash of Titans, Transformers 2, Taken 2, Cawboys and Aliens, Battle LA...and it grossed so little ! grim22
The Simpsons pay tribute to Studio Ghibli Wrecking Ball This reminds me of my coworker, who admittedly does not follow pop culture. Apparently he kept hearing this song while driving (makes sense, it got a lot of airplay) and for around 2 months he actually thought that the song was titled "Rainbow". Almost 70M. 100M is attainable, and if it can leg it out to even bigger number, well, I won't complain.

Cmasterclay
Congrats to CF. My favorite blockbuster of 2013 except maybe Pacific Rim. Really wonderful movie. Also, Lone Survivor is really great. Won't be a hit on the internet, but I think it will smash among general audiences. Nice preview number
