Depends. If they've got good stuff to follow it up with later, then no. If they've shooting their wad now, then yes its a mistake.

I didn't follow the latter part of SLoP marketing, but didn't that movie show a lot of the good stuff pretty early on too? Look how that's turning out.

I like the aspect of telling the story from three different and may I add mature perspectives whilst integrating not only their personal lives, but their dreams and backstories.  How often is it that an animated feature deals with housewives and a main character that has a father as a criminal and was also apart of the crime?  Hopefully this delivers because it has a lot of potential in terms of storytelling and themes.

Got the new trailer at Ghostbusters.

Yup, still looks like shit. And unlike Pets, the concept for this is so toxic I can't imagine being surprised twice in a year by Illumination

Prepare to be surprised then.

No it's the SING we mean:) They said the director and cast. Mathew, Reese and the team.

Really? That's pretty surprising, but I hope it's true because of the potential conversations at the TIFF box office.

"Hi, can I get a ticket for Sing?"

"No not THAT Sing!"

Am shocked it will go. Most people on the Oscar forums are shocked too.

This is Illumination's 1st ever fest selection! Not even DM went!

It just confirms my suspcisions/hopes that this film will be way better than what we think. (I hope)

Are they actually screening it or is it just a publicity junket? At work right now so can't watch the video

Full screening. Not just that - it's a Special Presentation. (Gala screening)

Big sign of confidence. First film for Illumination to get a festival selection.

This seems like an enormous sign of confidence if you ask me.

Even Despicable Me didn't go to any festival and Pets turned down Cannes.

So yea, am very surprised and I think this means big confidence to screen it 3 months before its commercial release.
