CJohn
Don't agree. I think it was an awesome movie. And apparently I am not alone. 130M+ OS is huge for a movie that wasn't able to make 40M DOM. Edited April 8, 2012 by CJohn
kayumanggi
JOHN CARTER might not even make 275 M worldwide. #cursed
CJohn
Please, lets not talk about John Carter. It will probably make it, since it still has to open in Japan.

BK007
In Time was a major disappointment when the director has done so much better before. It was generic, Timberlake couldn't really act and yeah, it sucked.

pinocchio
All time top movies in admissions for USA, UK, France and Germany This list for the USA has flaws (Roadshow movies like Ben-Hur and 3D movies are miscalculated) -- but Ghostbusters in 84 still was a bigger hit than TDK: http://www.mrob.com/...deo/topadj.html For the UK the BFI compiled a list that shows Gone with the Wind is still number one there with a staggering 35 million admissions: http://www.bfi.org.u...rt/complete.php Rudolf gave me this link for France, actual admission numbers since 1938 or so, the top 250. In France Titanic is the all time winner, and GWTW just number six: http://www.jpbox-off...variable=France Insidekino.de has a list that tracks movie admissions since 1968. In Germany, The Jungle Book wins (with re-releases), and Titanic is just number two. List however doesn't include the 50ies. Biggest hit in Germany ever seems to have been Der Förster vom Silberwald -- 1954 -- with a mindblowing 28 million admissions: http://insidekino.de...DAlltime100.htm

pinocchio
Great link.Thanks. You know what? I create a new thread for lists like that. This forum can need some traffic. There is data from Russia since WW2, too, but I can't find it anymore. And so on.
IndustriousAngel
That would be nice!Austria is only a small market (in fact, it's part of the german market as it's worked by the same distributors, same as Canada is part of the North American market), but Rentrak counts it extra. Here yo'll find data for 2011 - Top 25 by money and by admissions.Monthly charts available here. (Inofficial source - change year and month in adress to access the PDFs ) with admissions, but only the top 15 every month, plus statistics for Austrian productions. IndustriousAngel
Well, Austria is a really small market, usually it's more or less 10% of Germany's numbers - not very interesting to the industry i guess. But maybe we could do a Germany+Austria thread since it's really one big market with about 90 million people (I don't know if german-speaking Switzerland is worked by the same distributors? If yes, it could be added there too so we'd get near 100 million )
