AniNate
My predictions 1) home- mark my words, this will be dreamworks big comeback 2) the nut job- too many people will vote for this as a joke which means it will surprisingly get nominated 3) rio 2- as they snubbed the first one, this one will get in 4) legends of oz- Dorothy's return- clarius entertainment are a new studio so they will put out good quality films to start with 5) planes: fire and rescue- first one got snubbed and this has a prime summer spot and will earn good box office meaning it will be remembered and get the last spot
Films
I am, HTTDYD2 will seriously underwhelm, big hero 6 will be snubbed (I have that feeling) and don't know anything about the foreign language films
AniNate
I am, HTTDYD2 will seriously underwhelm, big hero 6 will be snubbed (I have that feeling) and don't know anything about the foreign language films Even if both those come to pass, there's no way The Lego Movie is not being nominated at this point (certainly not in favor of The Nut Job)

Films
I'll admit it now, of course my predictions were jokes. I'd love that to happen though Anyway, my real predictions 1] How To Train Your Dragon 2- No way this misses unless pulled of schedule 2] Big Hero 6- No way this misses unless pulled of schedule 3] The book of life- looks good and has that Oscar feel 4] The Boxtrolls- Laika will get a nomination with this 5] Foreign language film or Home [i think home could do a lot better with critics and audiences than people are thinking] I actually do honestly believe the LEGO movie will not get in

Blankments
Actually, I kinda see the point on LEGO possibly not being nominated. The older Academy members could easily view it as "a toy commercial" and it was released pretty early this year, so it could be forgotten. Now, I personally think it'll be nominated, but a lock it ain't
AniNate
It's the best-reviewed animated film since Toy Story 3; there's no freaking way it won't be nominated, even if it is a toy commercial.
lolifofo
Yeah if the Lego Movie gets snubbed, that would be even worse than Tangled's snub in 2010, which really infuriated me...The Illusionist...Pfft.
Blankments
Just to clarify, I love The LEGO Movie, in case y'all we're confused by my previous statement
AniNate
I wasn't questioning that. But The Lego Movie is a lock, and I don't use that word lightly.
Blankments
I have it 90% in, but stick by my statement that the older members might not be fans of it.

Jake Gittes
The Illusionist fully deserved its nomination. Tangled was just the unfortunate victim of there being only three nominees that year.
Spidey Freak
The silliest thing was that 2010 was just one movie short of the minimum number of total submitted animated features to warrant five nominees.

Jake Gittes
What's even worse was 2010 was one of strongest overall years for animation in a long time. The whole stretch from early 2009 (Coraline) to late 2010/early 2011 (Tangled, The Illusionist, Rango) was practically a goldmine of great animated films. Probably the best period for the medium in over a decade.
