I'm actually wondering if the Han Solo movie might still move to Xmas time.  IF it is expected to do around 300 to 400, there might be room for it and Avatar 2 to co-exist.  And who knows if A2 actually makes this date or not.

It probably is; Disney/Lucasfilm hasn't been saying May 2018, just 2018

I just hope he really focuses on strengthening the existing characters and giving us interesting new ones. The reason the first one gets dumped on a lot these days is because it didn't give the audiences any characters to really hold onto or remember. So everyone nitpicks on the conventional plot that otherwise wouldn't have bothered most.

What about the garbage dialogue that's practically second only to Lucas?

And public perception has changed for Titanic. Not to mention, where was Avatar's Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay? Can't tell if should have been for Original or Adapted, because even though it was "original", they might as well have called it Dances with Blue Alien Elves. ;)

Still can't believe we're getting another four of these things. I don't subscribe to the Avatar backlash, but it actively detracts from any excitement I'd have had about just one or maybe even two sequels announced ahead of time.

You know, my brain just tells me...he wouldn't be doing four of these if he didn't have grand ideas.  He must no now he's got IP so he's got license to do more interesting things storywise.  Big Jim did make two of the best sequels ever, he knows how to up the ante in every way with a movie.

Im excited.  Put simply, I didn't know I needed 4 more Avatars until James Cameron told me I did.  And I believe you Mr Cameron.  I believe.  . I say, if James fucking Cameron wants to do 4 more, then I want him to do 4 more.  Not like we'd get 4 original films out of him anyway.

This is going to be the same circular argument for the next 2+ years

-"Movie's never gonna be released!"

-"Don't doubt Cameron"

-"It's gonna suck!"

-"Don't doubt Cameron"

-"No one cares about Avatar anymore"

-"Don't doubt Cameron"

-"Four movies is too much!"

-"Don't doubt Cameron"

-"It can't compete with Star Wars"

-"Don't doubt Cameron"

In my opinion, the three scripts I’ve read so far are many times more amazing than the first one in terms of their scope. He did a lot of the heavy lifting in the first movie, establishing the family and the relationships and the world, and now he really gets to play.

AFTER MARVEL WAS DEFEATED, THEY BROUGHT FORTH THEIR SECRET WEAPON, NOSTALGIA.

HOWEVER AVATAR STILL STANDS STRONG, JAMES CAMERON REMAINS UNDEFEATABLE.

Afterall only one man can beat James "Iron Jim" Cameron, that mans name? James Cameron.
