Knowing Cameron, he's got 100+ pages of fairly detailed scriptments for the three films, and he's going to split 'em up, hand them off to his new co-writers, and divide and conquer, so he can keep moving forward with pre-production while writing (and re-writing) along with the others. It's not like these new writers are starting from scratch or even from an idea or vague outline.

Furthermore, let's say $1b in production budget (combined) and $600m for marketing budgets. The first film alone is gonna cover the vast bulk of that, making the next two giant profit-machines.... basically, THE HOBBIT on a much larger scale.

amen and the 4th will just be more money on the mega bondfire for Fox.. Then its Battle Angel

and more Cameron Domination lol

They would of probably given him a Billion for EACH sequel if Cameron asked for it, Fox would of been like "Well its James 'motherfucking' Cameron so we are will no doubt get 'the biggest film ever' with each sequel so fuck it, bleed us dry" :)

Indeed no one will dare not give James the money he needs and my oh my after

Avatar 1-4, fox then works with Cameron with the Battle angel films .:)

That was my early guess as well. I expect JC to add something new and revolutionary for the sequels. Water based environment and creatures would certainly help. 10B WW would make it the biggest franchise over Potter (4 vs. 8). I'll never doubt JC as he's the only one to hit a granslam to win the world series, twice (Titanic & Avatar). Plus his sequel record is second to none so if he delivers than sky is the limit for Avatar sequels. They could possibly hit 3B+ OS.  :o

Oh Druv , Tele machos, Neo friends I feel its a near lock for all of them

to do beyond that. How about 3.5-4B+ OS alone... Yes indeed we are talking

the potential of 4 avatar films making 11-13+Billion!!!...Geesus!!

What about 10 billion worldwide for all 4 films?, i think it could be close in the end!. :D

More we will do so much  more Stuart. Avatar 2 alone is likely to make 3.5-4B+ WW,

Imagine if all sequels make 4B-5B...Do you know we could be looking at

12-15B by the end of the final film. This is going to put James Cameron possibly

in all all time 4 spots domestically and worldwide.

I had a scary thought  what if we all underpricting avatar and even movie 2

makes 4B+ ..

Grab this chance ladies and gentlemen. This only happens once in a life time that we can just throw out our $3billion or $4billion predictions randomly without having to say "just kidding".

Grab the chance everyone. Earn it!

500 DOM + 2'600 OS = 3 billions and 100 milions dollars worldwide.

Every Cameron movie except for The Abyss, has been a hit, very big hit or a monster abnormal hit.

Terminator 2 was the biggest movie of 1991 so he had 3 movie phenomenons already.

True Lie adjusts to 300m and was 3rd behind 2 of the biggest movies of the 90's, Lion King and Forrest Gump.

Aliens saved Fox in the 80's and is one of the most succesful Rated R sci fi films.

Terminator, well the first movie invaded homes via VHS in the 80's and the main character is still an icon 30 years later.

And The Abyss is his underrated masterpiece.

Titanic & Avatar :  'nough said.

How about that for a track record ???

It should just be a trilogy. 4 makes it tacky.

It's funny how some are telling Cameron what it should be, when you have no idea what he has in mind in terms of stories he wants to tell. Did someone tell Rowling she should just stop writing HP books?
