Tuesday numbers: Godzilla 7m,Neighbors 2.6m,TASM2 1.4m(Rth)

And that would still represent a 6% drop from X3(adjusted) not even factoring in 3D.

X3 wasn't well received, this is the 7th X-Men film in 14 years and the franchises grosses have slipped steadily.

Fast & Furious was only the 4th film in the franchise and was released just 8 years after the original.

Damn Spidey can't catch a break.

Not that it deserves one.

It's toast. The team up of DOFP & Godzilla hold over + a side of Neighbors is going to mean a brutal Memorial Day weekend drop for the Spider.

Sorry..... B) It's harsh drop is almost a certainity though. If it were going to catch a break it would've caught it by now but it's WOM is lackluster, hence no break.

Don't hate on the messenger.

Oh I'm gonna hate on you alright.

When they were playing the ads on tv before the release of Spider-Man my turned to me and said, these Spider-Man movies all seem the same.  And he's someone who generally liked the films.  Just about every trailer for a Spider-Man movie would say his greatest battle.  Turns out it was audience apathy

Neighbors isn't holding up as well as first hoped either.  Wasn't there talk the first w/e that it might reach $200m or even pass ASM2?  It might be lucky to get to $150m. An OK but not great multiplier for a comedy.

Neighbors is holding out fine, it's 90% locked to cross $150M. That's insanely good for a film with an 18M budget.

What about Carmike? Do yall have those? There's a Carmike 8 about 6 minutes from campus and even though it's old as the pyramids, theyve updated the technology inside. Tickets before 6 are $4.50...I shit you not, $4.50. Then after 6 for adults? $6.50.It's my prime theater now, and it's so much easier on my wallet, especially since I usually have to pay for my GF. It's easier for us to be able to do dinner or something now after. When I went to Regal to see Spiderman, the tickets were $9.97 (they charged tax?). Yeah the Regal is new and has reclining seats, but I dont go to movies for all the extra stuff, I just want good projection, and good sound. Carmike offers that. It's not a flashy theater but it gets the job done.. That may not even be the cheapest mainstream theater in the state. And it's easier to get to compared to Regal which lies off an extremely busy road.I feels for you guys that have those inflated prices. I'm back for summer and my student ticket at my 14 screen megaplex is still only $8. I'm just lucky to live in such a cheap ass place.

Get ready for reality when you come to pursue your dreams. :shades:

Since Tuesday decreased, I don't think Wednesday drop is going to be that big. 25-27%. So 5M+ Wednesday and another 5M Thursday. So 170M+ DOM after Memorial Wknd.

$5m Thur would match SID and mean about a $10m Fri.  Thur-Fri jumps are deflating as weekdays inflate.

SID made: 37m Fri-Sun and $47m Fri-Mon. If Godzilla follows that it would mean a $164m after Memorial Day.
