#ED
The biggest news to take from all of this is that Paramount is planning on releasing Transformers 5 in 2016 instead of 2017, like we reported earlier. Of course this is subject to change, but if this expected release date holds, it add another big budget release for a jam-packed summer of 2016, which already has X-Men: Apocalypse, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Captain America 3, and Finding Dory all set to arrive. kitik
There's a distinct lack of good horror movies this year. Especially comparing to last year, where there were probably 5 or more that I like. If you want a complaint about this year, yes, it's definitely been a bad year for horror.

Sam
So after all the fuss about 2015 one year back, almost everything moved out of the way leaving space for Avengers and Star Wars. And now everything jumped in on 2016. That'll be fun.

And now everything jumped in on 2016. That'll be fun. With summer 2016 so full, it's only a matter of time before we hear about movies dropping out of that race. We've already heard rumors about Spidey moving, and there's a distinct chance Dragons will move. More movies will surely follow. 2014 has proved with Cap and Lego that releasing movies at emptier times of year may work better than cramming every single movie into summer. Fancyarcher
By the way, have you folks been discussing these numbers anywhere? http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/disney-brands-generate-record-40-9-billion-from-licensed-merchandise-in-2013-1201221813/# It really puts the $1.2 billion made by Frozen and IM3 at the box office in perspective. Nice info on a lot of their upcoming films too. Here's an even crazier comparison: http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/28880.html Disney and Warner Bros are in completely different leagues here. Well if Warner Brothers actually bothered to use DC to its fullest, maybe they wouldn't be lagging so behind.
